Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: This is a budget realignment request. There is a General Fund required contribution increase of $200 (offset by a reduction in General Fund Contingency) and an increase of realignment funds of $201.

Reason for Recommendation: Per Health and Safety Code 123955(a), the County is responsible for one-half of the non-Federal Healthy Families and CCS non-Medi-Cal funds identified in the CCS Program Administrative Budget. The County must appropriate $86,922 in order to finance its share of this budget and must verify said appropriations - $86,521 was budgeted in the adopted FY 2007-08 County budget. In order to complete this process, Public Health is required to align the County's current year budget with the State-approved budget by requesting an increase in the current level of funding from the General Fund as well as the Health and Welfare Trust. In addition, the department will increase the current level of State and federal funding in the County budget available for program support.
