Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost
There is no change to Net County Cost. There is no fiscal impact related to this action as the County no longer provides transit services and therefore would not utilize the available funding directly. If not provided for use by the Tahoe Transportation District (TTD), funds would be returned to the State.

Background
TTD was organized pursuant to the Tahoe Regional Planning Compact (Compact), Article IX, which established it as a special purpose district authorized and operating under federal authority provided by Public Law 96-551. The District is responsible for facilitating and implementing safe, environmentally positive, multi-modal transportation plans, programs and projects for the Lake Tahoe Basin, including transit operations.

On July 28, 2010 El Dorado County withdrew from the Participation Agreement to Implement a Coordinated Transit System at South Lake Tahoe, and notified the TTD of its desire to identify an effective arrangement with TTD to provide transit services for County's constituents in the unincorporated area of the South Lake Tahoe region.

On November 1, 2010 TTD commenced serving transit services within the South Lake Tahoe region inclusive of the unincorporated area of the County, pursuant to TTD's authority under Article IX of the Compact.
