Human Resources recommending the Board approve and authorize the Chair to sign Amendment III to Agreement No. 080-S1311 with Valentina Reiner, doing business as The Law Offices of Valentina Reiner to provide professional employment legal services, including but not limited to, investigations, trainings and services related to other various employment relations subjects as requested by Human Resources for the period of July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2015, increasing the not to exceed amount by $50,000.00 for a total not to exceed amount of $300,000.00.

Background and Reason for Recommendation
On June 26, 2012, the Board approved Agreement No. 080-S1311 with Valentina Reiner, doing business as The Law Offices of Valentina Reiner to provide investigative services and other specialized personnel services on an "as requested" basis, and subsequently approved Amendment I on October 22, 2013 to extend the term and increase compensation, followed by Amendment II on June 6, 2014 to increase compensation.
Human Resources receives complaints of alleged discrimination, harassment and retaliation by County employees. When appropriate, the department has contracted with outside vendors to provide unbiased investigations of the complaints filed.
