Community Development Agency, Transportation Division, recommending the Board adopt and authorize the Chair to sign Resolution 065-2015 sanctioning the closure of White Rock Road in the El Dorado Hills area approximately 1,100 feet from El Dorado County line to Carson Crossing Road on Sunday, May 3, 2015, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., for the “2015 Great Scott Road Bike & Walk Event”, subject to conditions set forth in Resolution No. 110-79 dated May 1, 1979.

DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION
The Transportation Division is recommending Board approval of the road closure to provide for the safety of participants, volunteers and spectators along the course, and to assist in the success of this community event. Other involved agencies have made no objections to this closure.
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The “2015 Great Scott Road Bike & Walk Event” is in support of regional “2015 May is Bike Month” sponsored by Sacramento County, City of Folsom, City of Rancho Cordova and County of El Dorado. The other supporting Cities and County are closing portions of Scott Road, White Rock Road and Placerville Road in Sacramento County. These closures will provide bicyclists and pedestrians with an opportunity to travel on stretches of road with no through motor vehicle traffic that have rolling hills and impressive views of the Sierra Nevada mountains. The Event will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2015, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Participants can enter and exit at any entrance.
The event will close White Rock Road approximately 1,100 feet from the El Dorado County line to Carson Crossing Road. The sponsors have requested the road closures between 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The in-kind services cost estimate for the Event is approximately $1,500.00 which includes providing advance notice of the event utilizing a changeable message sign (CMS) on Latrobe Road and signs placed on barricade...
