DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION
Sheriff's Office recommends the approval and signing of this Resolution to enable the Sheriff's Office staff to apply for various federal grants sub-granted through Cal OES.
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
Cal OES requires that an universal resolution (by title and not name) be on file from public agency governing bodies authorizing its agents to execute for and on behalf of that public agency applications for federal grant funds.
ALTERNATIVES
Failure to provide this resolution to the State would require that the Sheriff's Office submit a resolution for each individual grant application, rather than using this one-time, 3-year resolution on file with the State.

N/A. County Counsel reviews/approves and Board accepts grants that are awarded using this resolution in the application.
