DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION

The Sheriff's Office recommends the County of El Dorado Board of Supervisors approve and authorize the resolution to enable the County to file applications for disaster assistance funding.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

The resolution will enable the Sheriff's Office of Emergency Services staff to file applications for disaster relief for local, state, and federal declared emergencies. The Governor's Office of Emergency Services requested that the County update its authorized County Agents to execute disaster relief funding. This authority will be valid for three years.

The last time this action was taken by the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors was in 2008 (File Item: 08-0526). The paperwork for 2008 also had authorized agents from the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office.
