The addition of these signs and the associated crosswalk will facilitate the crossing of pedestrians from Valley View Elementary School and the Valley View Sports Park to the southside of Blackstone Parkway.

DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION
Community Development Agency, Transportation Division (Transportation) recommending the Board approve and authorize the Chair to sign Resolution sanctioning the revision to intersection stops and pedestrian crosswalks for the following:
-Add "Stop" signs on Blackstone Parkway at its intersection with County Road No. 2802, stopping all three (3) travel lanes and placement of a crosswalk, as marked by lines on the pavement crossing Blackstone Parkway at the eastern intersection of County Road No. 2802. DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
A study was conducted by Transportation in response to a signed petition by 54 residents of the Blackstone Subdivision requesting an "All-Way Stop" and crosswalk be placed on Blackstone Parkway at County Road No. 2802 intersection. Transportation and Traffic Advisory Committee concluded that the "All-Way Stop" and crosswalk at the Blackstone Parkway and County Road 2802 intersection is justified due to the existing and projected vehicular and pedestrian traffic accessing at this uncontrolled intersection.

CAO RECOMMENDATION
CAO recommending the Board move staff's recommendations by approving and authorizing the Chair to sign the referenced resolution.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Installation of the two (2) stop signs, stop ahead signs, crosswalk, and associated painted road legends on Blackstone Parkway at County Road No. 2802 are estimated to cost a total of $2,500.00. Funding to complete the work is included in the Fiscal Year 2015-16 Transportation Division Road Fund budget.

1) The Clerk will obtain the Chair's signature on the Resolution.
2) The Clerk will forward one (1) copy of the Resolution to Transportation.
