Background

El Dorado County (County) entered into a Reciprocal Use and Funding Agreement with the Sacramento Placerville Transportation Corridor Joint Powers Authority (SPTC JPA) effective August 31, 1996.  The member agencies included in this agreement are the County of Sacramento, the City of Folsom, Regional Transit and El Dorado County.  The agreement was signed by the County Board Chair on August 20, 1996.

As part of the agreement, each member agency agreed to allocate responsibility for funding the purchase price and related costs for the acquisition of the rail corridor.  Total County contribution for the purchase was $2,770,000.

At the May 11, 2015 SPTC JPA meeting a resolution adopting the FY 2015-2016 Operating Budget was approved thereby setting the member agencies' annual contribution amount for FY 2015-2016 at $27,500.

Funding for the annual contribution was included in the FY 2015-16 Parks Division operating budget.
