Body

DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION

Community Development Agency, Transportation Division (Transportation) recommends the Board approve the above Task Order Amendments in order to continue consultant services providing inspection of subdivision improvements.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

These contracts were written to provide on-call construction administration and inspection support for Transportation's Capital Improvement Program and subdivision construction program.  Using on-call contracts such as these allows Transportation the flexibility to staff up during seasonally busy times, or as development projects increase, and then staff back down as construction work slows down. The subject task order amendments are for work performed solely for subdivision construction inspection services. Labor unions have been contacted regarding these services and did not have any issues with contracting out such services.
