Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: No Impact on Net County Cost as funds are budgeted from ERDS Special Revenue Fund per Government Code 27397(c)(1).   
 
Background:This is amend IV (4) to our original Department of Justice MOU of 2005.  Our participation continues annually until either party (County or DOJ) does not wish to continue the agreement.  Fees are a pro-rata cost based upon the number of documents recorded annually.
 
Reason for Recommendation:  The Recorder-Clerk will become more efficient in recording certain real estate transactions and will be more secure, save funds and, benefit the taxpayers of El Dorado County.
 
Action to be taken following Board approval:The Recorder-Clerk respectfully requests that the Board of Supervisors approve and cause to be signed the Fiscal Year 09/10 Amendment IV to the Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Justice.
