DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION
The seminars use audio recordings, video clips, brain images, surveillance video, and two dynamic speakers who relate directly to the attendees. This training presented by Clarke Paris, a retired police sergeant with 27 years’ experience, and Tracie Paris, a Registered Nurse with 29 years’ experience, also addresses issues such as officer stress, depression and the roles they play in law enforcement and military engagements (relationships, use of force, Internal Affairs complaints, motivation, etc.). The law enforcement employees and First Responders who attend this seminar hear stories, learn about stress and how it affects their lives, and discover how and where to get help. And all in an attempt to reduce the #1 Law Enforcement Killer: SUICIDE.

’Winning the Battle’ is not a seminar on law enforcement suicide but an emotional day of addressing the bi-products of officer and military stress that when untreated or ignored, can and quite often do, result in suicide. Areas addressed are Depression/PTSD/Cumulative Stress, Progression of Stress, Perception Protection, Spousal & Family involvement, Officer Involved Domestic Violence, Stress & Women in Law Enforcement and Suicide/Prevention.

Clarke and Tracie Paris do not carry the required error and omissions insurance, otherwise known as professional liability, which County Risk Management requires.
