Fiscal Impact

This 1977 Caterpillar Loader 930 (VIN #41K-7488, County Tag #200193) is no longer in use and has been replaced in order to achieve ARB emission goals.  Lake Valley Fire Protection District needs a loader in order to clear their driveways and parking lot in winter months, Lake Valley Fire Protection District is able to use this equipment as the ARB has exempted fire department equipment from these regulations.

 

Lake Valley Fire Protection District owns a Morbark Wood Chipper that was purchased through AQMD for a program that is no longer in place and would like to donate this piece of equipment to the Community Development Agency, Transportation Division, which has a need for this equipment.

 

Reason for Recommendation

Property determined to be surplus to the needs of various departments is offered to other County departments in accordance with Purchasing Ordinance 3.12.190 - Surplus Pool. The attached list of "surplus property" reflects those items that remain surplus to the needs of the County. The Purchasing Agent will dispose of said property in accordance with the Purchasing Ordinance as noted in Section 3.12.210 and Section 3.12.220 thereof by means of donation.
