DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION
The Chief Administrative Office (CAO) and Clerk of the Board recommend the Board approve the ordinance to allow for greater flexibility of the Board to modify it's meeting calendar as needed by Resolution.
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On November 10, 2015 (Item 30), the Board approved Introduction (First Reading) of Ordinance 5029, waived full reading and continued the matter to December 8, 2015 for consideration of Final Passage (Second Reading).
The current Title, Chapter and Section (2.03.020) of county code states the Board "shall" meet each Tuesday for their regular meetings. The proposed ordinance removes the requirement that regular meetings of the Board be held weekly, allowing for improved flexibility for special meetings and events as may be necessary over the course of the year.
ALTERNATIVES
The Board may disapprove the ordinance and direct staff to prepare the 2016 regular Board meeting calendar pursuant to the current code requirements.
