Community Development Agency, Transportation Division, recommending the Board adopt and authorize the Chair to sign Resolution 054 -2016 sanctioning the closure of one road in the El Dorado Hills area for Harvard Way, on Friday, April 29, 2016, between 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., for “Every 15 Minutes", subject to conditions set forth in Resolution No. 110-79 dated May 1, 1979, and in the "Application for Road Closure."

DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION
The Community Development Agency, Transportation Division is recommending Board approval of the road closure to provide for the safety of participants, volunteers and spectators along the course, and to assist in the success of this community event. Other involved agencies have made no objections to this closure.
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
“Every 15 Minutes” is a student program for awareness to the consequences of drinking alcohol and driving. The sponsors, Oak Ridge High School, El Dorado County Sheriff, El Dorado Hills Fire Department and California Highway Patrol have requested Harvard Way, from Clermont Way to Silva Valley Road be closed between 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Friday, April 29, 2016 in the El Dorado Hills Area. Local traffic will still have access to neighborhood roadways.
ALTERNATIVES
If the Board does not approve the the road closure the event would not take place at this time or location. If the sponsors want to proceed with this event they would have to explore other options.

CLERK OF THE BOARD FOLLOW UP ACTIONS
1) The Clerk of the Board will obtain the Chair’s signature on two (2) originals of the Resolution.
2) The Clerk of the Board will send one (1) fully executed copy of the Resolution to the Community Development Agency,Transportation Division, Andrew Gaber.
