Body
REASON FOR RECOMMENDATION: At the request of Information Technologies, the Procurement and Contracts Division issued an Invitation to Bid for printer repair services, for both the West and East Slopes. The repair services are for laser, ink jet, thermal, plotter and dot matrix printers located in all County departments.

The bid was categorized by type of printer being serviced with a set percentage over Vendor's cost for parts and supplies that will remain firm for the awarded twelve (12) month period.

Eighty-eight (88) Invitations to Bid were mailed; seventeen (17) to local vendors. Three (3) qualified responses were received; one (1) from a local vendor. Attached is a spreadsheet for your review.

Your Board is being asked to find that it is more economical and feasible to obtain an outside contractor to provide printer repair services for a variety of printers located within County Departments, both East and West slope. The contractor is Hewlett Packard certified which enables them to perform warranty and non-warranty repair services. The nature of the work involves temporary or occasional services.

The County Officer or employee with responsibility for administering the Agreement is Tom Straling, Technology Officer, Information Technologies Department, or successor.

A Draft Agreement is on file with the Board Clerk's office.
