Reason for Recommendation:
The Chief Administrative Office has been notified by the Auditor Controller's office that expenditures in the Public Defender's office have exceeded appropriations. In order to complete year end processing a transfer from Contingency is necessary. A memo from the Public Defender is attached for review.
Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:
A transfer of $30,000 from General Fund Contingency to the Public Defender's budget will offset the existing overage in appropriations and allow the Auditor's Office to complete year end processing.
Action to be taken following Board approval:
The Board Chairman will sign the budget transfer which will be forwarded to the Auditor Controller's office for processing.
