Body

Reason for Recommendation:  On September 9, 2005 the Purchasing Agent executed Agreement #212-S0610 with G & O Body Shop, Inc., dba G & O Towing, to provide towing of County vehicles and emergency roadside services for the "Western Slope" of El Dorado County on an "as requested" basis for departments County-wide.  The Agreement was for a one (1) year period in an amount not to exceed $10.000.00.

Amendment I is extending the said Agreement for a one (1) year period and increasing the compensation by an additional $10,000.00 for a total amount not to exceed $20,000.00.  Your Board is being asked to make findings that it is more economical and feasible to contract out the needed services in accordance with Section 3.13.030 of the County Ordinance rather than hire individuals to perform the "as requested" services and purchase the equipment needed.

The County officer or employee with responsibility for administering this Agreement is Bonnie H. Rich, Procurement and Contracts Manager.

Amendment I to Agreement #212-S0610 has been approved by County Counsel and Risk Management.

Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:  No change in net County cost.

Action to be taken following Board approval:  Following Board approval, the Board Clerk's office will forward Amendment I to the Procurement and Contracts Division for distribution, encumbrance, and administration.
