Body

Reason for Recommendation: Your Board is being asked to make findings that it is more economical and feasible to obtain an outside contractor to provide laundry and linen services County-wide, rather than to create new County job classifications and obtain the specialized equipment and facilities necessary to perform the services.

On March 22, 2006, the Purchasing Agent executed Agreement #560-S0610 with Ameripride Services, Inc. to provide laundry and linen services on an "as requested" basis for various County Departments. This Agreement was for the period of April 1, 2006 through March 31, 2007 for a total amount not to exceed $10,000.00.

On August 24, 2006, the Purchasing Agent executed Amendment I to said Agreement to revise the Exhibit "A", no additional funds were required.

Procurement and Contracts has processed Amendment II to said Agreement increasing the compensation by an additional $10,000.00 for a total not to exceed $20,000.00 for the term of the Agreement.

Amendment II has been approved by County Counsel and Risk Management. The County Officer or employee with responsibility for administering the Agreement is Bonnie H. Rich, Purchasing Agent.

Action to be taken following Board approval: Following Board approval, Board Clerk's Office will forward executed amendment to Procu...
