Background: It is the practice of the Board each year to establish a schedule of regular meetings for the upcoming year, taking into consideration County holidays and scheduling conflicts.
Reason for Recommendation: In accordance with past practice, the following schedule is recommended:
(1) Regular, Tuesday meetings cancelled in all cases where Monday is a holiday.
(2) Spring break (April 2-6) coincides with EDUHSD spring break.
(3) Cap-to-Cap (April 21-25)
(4) Three-week summer break proposed for the weeks of July 23, July 30 and August 6.
(5) Two week break in November for CSAC annual meeting scheduled for November 12-16 and November 19-23 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
(6) Three-week winter break proposed for the weeks of December 17-21, December 24-28 and December 31 - January 4, 2008.
Past practice of the Board has been to cancel the meeting during the week of the July 4th holiday, however, this is not being proposed for the 2007 calendar.
Action to be taken following Board approval: Clerk of the Board will have meeting schedule posted and distributed.
