Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: Approving the recommendation allows the County to obtain outside funding for the bike path project in the amount of $20,000. There is no cost to the County's General fund. This grant funding has been included in the FY 06-07 DOT budget.
Reason for Recommendation: In September 2002, the El Dorado County Transportation Commission (EDCTC) approved various non-motorized projects to be funded with 2002/03 RSTP funds. In 2005, EDCTC set aside this funding as the local match for El Dorado County's Bicycle Transportation Account (BTA) Grants. The available funding is $38,956, of which $20,000 is programmed for the Green Valley Road bike path project.
Action to be taken following Board approval: Upon approval of the recommendation, DOT will immediately submit a claim signed by the Director of Transportation to the El Dorado County Transportation Commission for $20,000 of RSTP Exchange funds for non-motorized projects.
