Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: The difference between Step 3 and step 4 is approximately $1,958 for fiscal year 06/07. This calculation is based on 12 pay periods of salary since a likely start date for this individual is January 20, 2007. Background: The current Deputy Director of Development Services - Administration has announced her intention to retire in 2007.

Reason for Recommendation: The position of Deputy Director of Development Services - Administration manages a staff of 24 and is directly responsible for all fiscal, budgetary, administrative (general clerical, file management and contract administration) and IT activities within the department. This candidate has a degree in Economics and brings 10 years of experience in government finance and supervision, 8 of those years in El Dorado County, serving in various accounting roles. The candidate’s direct knowledge of County systems, processes and procedures will be invaluable to the Development Services Department as they continue to blend the functions of Building and Planning as well as grading activities previously managed by the Department of Transportation.
