REASON FOR RECOMMENDATION: At the request of the Sheriff’s Office, the Procurement and Contracts Division issued an Invitation to Bid for the purchase of self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) equipment. The equipment will be used by various County Fire Protection Districts.

The bid is separated into five (5) categories. Categories one (1) through three (3) are for self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and related accessories. Each category is brand specific to ensure compatibility with each Fire Protection Districts’ current equipment. Category four (4) is for a universal fit test system that ensures each fireman has a properly fitting respirator. Category five (5) is for a breathing air compressor to fill empty oxygen tanks for the Fire Protection Districts.

One-hundred six (106) Invitations to Bid were mailed, seven (7) to local vendors; ten (10) qualified responses were received, none from local vendors. The bid results are provided on the attached spreadsheets.
