Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:

Funding for the Project construction in the amount of $2,381,824.70 will come from the California Tahoe Conservancy (CTC), the United States Forest Service and the United States Bureau of Reclamation. The $1,099,542.29 in other funding will come from a CTC grant Amendment under a separate agenda item at this same Board meeting and will be included in the FY 07/08 Erosion Control Budget. There is no cost to the County General Fund.

Background:

On May 23, 2006 your Board approved the Apalachee Phase 3A Erosion Control Project’s (Project) Plans and Specifications and authorized the Department to advertise for construction bids, with the bid opening scheduled for June 13, 2006. The Department received no bids and informed your Board that the Department would go out to bid again in the fall of 2006.
