Background:
This position allocation was approved in the FY 06/07 budget. An aggressive recruitment produced a number of qualified candidates. Two candidates, who were offered the position, turned it down due to salary considerations.
Reason for Recommendation:
Due to the difficulties in filing this position Information Technologies is recommending hiring Mr. Bob Summers at step 5 of the Supervising IT Analyst - Programming Option classification.
Mr. Summers has over 20 years experience in application development, project management and management and is proficient in the technologies that are critical for the County's current and future initiatives, including Visual Basic, .Net, Java, Cobol, Microsoft SQL Server, and DB2. Mr. Summers has extensive experience working with local governments and agencies.
We are confident that with the relevant experience he possesses Mr. Summers will quickly be a valuable and contributing member to the Applications Support Division.
Action to be taken following Board approval:
Information Technologies shall be authorized to hire Mr. Bob Summers at step 5 of the Supervising IT Analyst - Programming Option classification.
