Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: There are sufficient salary savings available to cover this increase (additional $2,400 for the remainder of FY 06/07).

Background: Mr. Julihn has worked for the County since September 2002 in a part-time capacity in the Emergency Medical Services Agency. He was initially hired at step 3 in the salary schedule and since that time has not had a salary increase. Additionally, his classification did not receive an increase when the last equity adjustments occurred.  Mr. Julihn has, from the very beginning, provided exemplary service and work product.

Reason for Recommendation: The Department continues to need his services and, given his four years of service at the same pay level, recommends moving him to the 5th step of the Consulting Health Professional pay schedule.

Action to be taken following Board approval: Human Resources to process 5th step placement for Mr. Julihn as a Consulting Health Professional - Extra Help, effective Pay Period #3, January 20, 2007.
