Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: Animal Control will pay CSA #3 $4,274 and CSA #7 $17,096. There is no net County cost.

Background: The West Slope Animal Control Shelter's lease expires on March 9, 2007. The Board has signed a lease for a temporary shelter on Placerville Drive to use while the new shelter is being built. Part of the temporary housing plan includes placing administrative staff and field officers in the former Ambulance Billing offices at 415 Placerville Drive (there is insufficient room to house them all at the temporary shelter), just 1/4th of a mile from the temporary shelter site.

Reason for Recommendation: Starting January 15th, Animal Control will start paying rent at 415 Placerville Drive and begin moving in. The furniture currently installed at 415 Placerville Drive is listed on the fixed asset list under Ambulance Billing and was purchased with CSA #3 & #7 funds. The Department requests the Board authorize Animal Control to purchase this furniture from CSA's #3 and #7 for use, and approve the transfer of the furniture from Ambulance Billing's fixed asset list to Animal Control's fixed asset list for appropriate tracking. Copies of the transfer request are attached.
