There is no net County cost associated with this agenda item. The subject property acquisition costs of $35,000 plus title and escrow fees of approximately $2,500 equals a total of $37,500.

Background:

The U.S. Hwy. 50/Missouri Flat Road Interchange Project #71317 requires that a portion of the subject property be acquired for right of way purposes including a temporary construction easement, in order to accommodate a minor realignment of Perks Court. The property consists of a single family residence and is located at 6854 Perks Court, Placerville.

On July 18, 2006, your Board authorized DOT’s Right of Way Unit to engage in negotiations to acquire a portion of the subject property. Negotiations with Mr. and Mrs. Wix continued for several months, and settlement has now been reached.

Reason for Recommendation:
