Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:
 
There is no Fiscal Impact associated with this Item. There is no cost to the County General Fund.
 
Reason for Recommendation:
 
The Contract for the Silvertip Phase 2 Erosion Control Project (Project) executed by your Board on July 11, 2006 was substantially completed October 24, 2006.  The Board actions above will start legal time frames for guarantees, a lien period, and return of retention monies.  
 
Herback General Engineering acceptance of the final contract cost is attached and summarized below:
 
            Original Bid Price:                        $322,056.49
            Construction Contract Item Cost:            $311,268.49
            Contract Change Order:                  $       840.00
            Final Cost of Construction:                       $312,108.49
 
The Contract Change Order for this Project dealt with compensating the Contractor for the costs associated with the addition of asphalt concrete curb in the Caltrans right-of-way within the project area.
 
The originals of the Certification and the Notice of Completion for Phase 2 are attached.
 
Action to be taken following Board approval:
 
1.  The Board Clerk will obtain the Board Chairman's signature on the Notice of Completion.
 
2.  The Board Clerk will send the Notice of Completion to the Recorder's Office for recordation and return copies to the Department.
