Body
Reason for Recommendation:  Deputies Franciscio, Betts, Pettit, Leard, Thomas, and Hennick recently retired and each desire to buy their duty weapon for trade-in or replacement value.  Five (5) of the weapons would be used for trade-in since they are no longer used, but one (1) is the glock model that is currently issued.  The weapons are as follows with quoted resale value by Big Horn Gunshop, El Dorado, California:  S&W 4013 VYZ2185, value of $200.00; S&W 4006 VCK6453, value of $200.00; S&W 4013 VYY7778, value of $200.00; Glock 27 FHN954, value of $200.00; Remington 700 Reciever & Bolt Only B6352977, value of $50.00; Glock 22 DRT517, value of $439.68 (current sale price per bid 06-680-077).  Legal transfer of ownership will be done through Big Horn Gunshop at no cost to the county.

Fiscal Impact:  The Sheriff's Office Armory will recieve the funds paid by each retired employee.  The Armory will replace the one (1) Glock 22.

Action to be taken following approval:  Upon approval of the recommendation, the Procurement and Contract Division will process the necessary surplus property transfer request, and the Sheriff's Office shall execute sale of each hand gun through Big Horn Gunshop.
