...Body
County Ordinance Section 15.16.020 specifies that a building permit shall become null and void if the building or work is not completed with a final inspection approval within two years from the date of issuance.  However, due to circumstances beyond the control of Mr. Morris (permittee) relating to a death in the family of his building designer the permittee was not able to complete the construction plans for a revision to his approved project.  The permit for this project expires on March 15, 2007.  Diligent pursuit of this project was not accomplished because of these circumstances therefore; a one year extension cannot be granted administratively.  Because the delays were not within the control of the permittee and because it would cause extreme hardship, Supervisor Santiago, on behalf of the applicant, requests that the building permit be allowed a one-year extension for a new expiration date of March 15, 2008.  The Development Services Department has no objection.
