Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: No change to net county cost. Department has sufficient salary savings
Background: On July 12, 2005 an Agenda Item was approved amending the salaries for elected and appointed department heads, assistant department heads, unrepresented management and confidential groups. This agenda item failed to list the Chief Assistant Public Defender as a classification whose salary needed to be amended because the position was vacant at the time.
Reason for Recommendation: The position will be filled soon, and the salary needs to be brought up to date to be 17% below the Public Defender. This adjustment is retroactive back to February 17, 2007.
Action to be taken following Board approval: Human Resources will amend the salary schedule and assure that it is posted on the website.
