Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: Attached are two separate Budget Transfer Requests. One was prepared and signed by Public Health and requests $100,000 be transfered from Fund 20 to Fund 11. Of that amount, $65,045 will be provided to Probation for additional Prop 36 services, and is reflected on the second attached Budget Transfer, which was prepared and signed by Probation. The remainder will be used by Public Health for additional treatment by third-party providers and for Drug Court related training activities. Special revenue Prop 36 Drug Crime Prevention funding will be used to cover increased appropriations. There is no Net County cost.

Reason for Recommendation: Due to an increase in the need for services and training, and to the availability of unspent funds, Public Health and Probation require added appropriations. Specifically, Public Health will pass $65,045 to Probation to support a portion of a third Prop 36 Probation Officer in the current fiscal year. Three Officers are currently assigned to the Program due to caseload size. However, Public Health typically provides Probation with funds to cover two of those officers.
