There is no Fiscal Impact associated with this item. There is no cost to the County General Fund.

Reason for Recommendation:
The Contract for the Missouri Flat Road and Golden Center Drive Traffic Signalization Project (Project) at the intersection of Missouri Flat Road and Golden Center Drive was executed by the Board on June 27, 2006. The Project was substantially completed November 10, 2006. Negotiations between Richard A. Heaps Electrical Contractors, Inc. and the Department of Transportation regarding cost data for extra work billings has delayed the submittal of extra work bills and subsequently has also delayed the execution of the Final Estimate and the Notice of Completion by several months.

The Board actions above will start legal time frames for guarantees, a lien period, and return of retention monies. Richard A. Heaps Electrical Contractors, Inc. acceptance of the final Contract cost is attached and summarized below:

Construction Contract Item Cost $230,165.90
Contract Change Orders $ 12,508.73
Final Cost of Construction $242,674.63

Major Contract Change Orders on this Project dealt with traffic control, installation of Pedestrian Push Buttons, erosion control measures and installation of additional truncated dome mats in the handicap ramps.
