Change To Net County Cost

$-0-

Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: No change to NCC - Overtime expenditures are offset 100% by revenue.  Any carryover funding from FY06/07 will be rebudgeted in the Sheriff's FY07/08 budget to cover the period 07/01/07 - 12/31/07.

Background: The US Department of Justice annually provides funds to reimburse the El Dorado County Sheriff to defray costs relating to the eradication and suppression of illicit marijuana.  This agreement is retroactive as to term (1/1/07 - 12/31/07).  The County did not receive the Agreement  from DEA until 4/2/07.

Reason for Recommendation:
The is an annual agreement that the Sheriff's Office has participated in since 1997.

Action to be taken following Board approval:  The Sheriff will sign the Agreement and forward to the Drug Enforcement Agency; the Auditor will process the attached budget transfer request adding $22,000 in both revenue and overtime expenditure appropriations for the Sheriff's Narcotics Unit.
