Body

DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION

Chief Administrative Office, Procurement and Contracts recommending the Board authorize the Purchasing Agent to sign Amendment II to Agreement for Services 616-S1410 with Pacific Systems Integrators, Inc., to authorize the assignment of Pacific Systems Integrators, Inc. to Corrections Technology Group, LLC, extend the term for one (1) year to a total term of four (4) years, from May 14, 2014 through May 13, 2018, and update the compensation for overnight stays, for on-call and emergency maintenance and repair services of detention systems, locks and ancillary equipment in jails and juvenile detention centers.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

Detention hardware, lock mechanisms and related ancillary equipment is heavily utilized throughout the County’s secured facilities.  Since each Facility is operated 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the wear and tear is significant and maintenance of these systems is critical to the safety of both staff and inmates.

Under this agreement, the Contractor provides on-call and emergency maintenance and repair services for these systems at the County’s incarceration and locked-down facilities.  Services include creating a database of County detention hardware, establishing preventive maintenance schedules, disassembly (and reassembly) of various detention systems for minor repairs, replacement of parts and other tasks to ensure proper and safe operation.

This proposed Second Amendment shall assign the agreement to Corrections Technology Group LLC (CTG) effective March 1, 2016 and extend the term for one (1) additional year to a total term of four (4) years, from May 14, 2014 through May 13, 2018, to provide the Facilities Division with continual on-call and emergency support in safeguarding access throughout the County’s detention facilities.
