The Community Development Agency, Transportation Division, is recommending Board approval of the road closure to provide for the safety of participants, volunteers and spectators along the course, and to assist in the success of this annual community event. Other involved agencies have made no objections to this closure.

The "Pollock Pines 4th of July Parade" is a charming small town event and is sponsored by the Pollock Pines/Camino Rotary Club. Several dozen floats from County residents, non-profit groups and businesses participate each year, including the National Pony Express Association, On Stage Productions and the Fleet Reserve Association. Proper evidence of insurance has been received and will be updated prior to the event taking place.

ALTERNATIVES
If the Board does not approve the road closure the event would not take place at this time or location. If the sponsors want to proceed with this event they would have to explore other options.
