Sheriff, Mental Health and Probation Departments recommending approval of a Memorandum of Understanding between said Departments setting forth each agency's roles, responsibilities and expectations as they relate to the Mentally Ill Offenders Crime Reduction Grant Program (MIOCR) and the associated expansion of the County's Behavioral Health Courts in South Lake Tahoe and Placerville.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve.

Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: None
Background: On 3/6/07, your Board approved item #28 accepting the Mentally Ill Offenders Crime Reduction Grant Program and establishing appropriations within the Sheriff, Mental Health and Probation budgets.
Reason for Recommendation: The grant guidelines require that a Memorandum of Understanding be implemented between the participating agencies. County Counsel has approved the MOU and the participating Department Heads have signed the document. The MOU is now being presented for Board approval.
Action to be taken following Board approval: As signed copy of the MOU will be distributed to each department. The MOU will be on file in the Board Clerk's Office.
