Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: The requested action of approving the project for bid has no fiscal impact.
 
Background: Bid documents have been prepared for the El Dorado Trail Eastern Extension, Parkway Drive to Los Trampas Drive, and have been approved by County Counsel and Risk Management. This project would serve to extend the El Dorado Trail by constructing 1.5 miles of Class One bike trail from Parkway Drive east to Los Trampas Drive on the old Michigan-California Railroad right-of-way.
 
Reason for Recommendation: The extension of the trail will provide additional multi-use recreational opportunities for citizens of El Dorado County including equestrians, bicyclists and hikers. The project has been identified in the County's five year Capital Improvement Plan, funding is in place. Plans and specifications have been completed.
 
Action to be taken following Board approval: General Services will advertise with bids due no later than 2:00pm on June 4, 2007 and will return to the Board for anticipated award of the Bid on Tuesday June 26, 2007.
