Probation Department recommending Chairman be authorized to sign retroactive Agreement 070-M0711 with El Dorado County Office of Education, El Dorado Board of Education (County Schools), and said Department to fund the Probation Department $100 per unit of average daily attendance of youth enrolled in the Charter Community School Intervention Program for the term July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2008.

Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:
No fiscal impact or change to Net county Cost. The Probation Department has anticipated this revenue in the 2007/08 proposed budget.
Reason for Recommendation:
Certain students on probation need additional support services to function in the public schools. County Schools is authorized under Chapter 605 of the Education Code, Section 1980 et seq. to enroll and provide for education of students through services provided by the El Dorado County Court School Program.
County Schools to pay at a rate of one hundred dollars ($100.00) per unit of average daily attendance as defined by Education Code Sections 46300 for each school year generated per Education Code Section 1981(c), from each student who is within the provisions of 601 and/or 602 of the Welfare and Institution's Code, referred by County to County Schools, and is enrolled in the Charter Community School Intervention Program.
Total payment to County by County Schools for the 2006/07 school year shall be made by September 30, 2007; and for the 2007/08 school year shall be made by September 30, 2008. The term of this agreement is from July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2008. The revenue derived from this program in FY 05/06 was $18,986.00. This agreement has been under County review since June, 2006.
The County Officer responsible for administering this agreement is Joseph S. Warchol, II, Chief Probation Officer.
