Chief Administrative Office, Procurement and Contracts Division, recommending: (1) award of Bid 07-288-123 for the purchase of plant mix asphalt concrete for the West Slope for the Department of Transportation to the low qualified bidder, Teichert Aggregates of Rancho Cordova, CA; (2) authorize the Purchasing Agent to issue a blanket purchase order in the amount of $828,059, including sales tax, for a twelve (12) month period; and (3) authorize the Purchasing Agent to increase the blanket purchase order on an "as-needed" basis during the awarded period if funding is available within the requesting department's budget.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve.

REASON FOR RECOMMENDATION: At the request of the Department of Transportation, the Procurement & Contracts Division issued an Invitation to Bid for plant mix asphalt concrete for the West Slope. The plant mix asphalt concrete is used for repairing roads and project maintenance throughout the County. The bid results are included in the attached evaluation spreadsheet.
Six (6) invitations to bid were mailed; two (2) qualified responses were received. No local vendors provide this product.
FISCAL IMPACT/CHANGE TO NET COUNTY COST: Procurement and Contracts has been advised that funding is available within the Department of Transportation's Road Fund budget.
ACTION TO BE TAKEN FOLLOWING APPROVAL: Following Board approval, Procurement and Contracts Division will issue a blanket purchase order in the amount of $828,059.00 to Teichert Aggregates of Rancho Cordova, CA.
