Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:
The cost associated for the construction phase of this project is estimated at $ 1,280,000, which includes an estimated bid of $900,000, supplemental items at $60,000, and contingency of $140,000. In addition, the Department estimates a Construction Management, Testing and Surveying budget at $180,000.

Funding for this project is through the West Slope 2004 General Plan Traffic Impact Mitigation (TIM) Fee Program. Staff is also pursuing a Targeted Rubberized Asphalt Concrete Grant from the California Integrated Waste Management Board. If successful this will supplant approximately $26,000 of TIM funds.

There is no net cost to the County General Fund associated with this agenda item.

Reason for Recommendation:
This Project is an operational and safety project to install traffic signals at the intersection of Cameron Park Drive and Oxford Road. This project is included in the Department’s Five-Year Capital Improvement Program which was presented to the Board of Supervisor’s in February 2007.
