Background:
At its May 1, 2007 meeting (Agenda Item #35), the Board of Supervisors adopted the schedule of health insurance rates for FY 2007-08.  The schedules indicate that the effective date of the new schedule is July 1, 2007.  
 
Reason for Recommendation:
The effective date of July 1, 2007 falls in the middle of pay period 14.  In prior fiscal years, the schedule contained a footnote that provided effective dates that were dependent upon employees' participation in the optional benefits plan. That footnote was inadvertently omitted from the FY 2007-08 schedule.
 
Action to be taken following Board approval:
The Auditor-Controller's Office will implement the approved changes at the appropriate dates.
