Reason for Recommendation: The Procurement and Contracts Division issued an informal bid for the purchase of a new convection oven, ranges, and work surfaces for the Probation Department's Juvenile Hall kitchen. The old equipment is broken and unsafe to use. The Purchasing Agent awarded the informal bid to Economy Restaurant Fixtures of Sacramento, California and issued a purchase order in the amount of $17,530.57. The awarded bidder will disconnect, remove, and dispose of the old equipment upon delivery of the new equipment. Your Board is being asked to declare the old equipment as surplus to the needs of the County and authorize the Purchasing Agent to dispose of said property in accordance with the Purchasing Ordinance as noted in Section 3.12.200 thereof. There is no resale value for the old equipment.
Fiscal Impact: None. The old oven/stove unit will be picked up by the vendor - Economy Restaurant Fixtures when the new oven/stove unit is delivered and installed.
Action to be taken following approval: Upon approval of the recommendation, the Purchasing Agent shall dispose of said property.
