Transportation Department recommending Resolution sanctioning the closure of Marshall Road between Garden Valley Road and Greenwood Road, approximately 200 feet of Greenwood Road west of Marshall Road intersection, and approximately 500 feet of Garden Valley Road east of Marshall Road intersection in Garden Valley on Wednesday, July 4, 2007, between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., for the "Garden Valley Annual 4th of July Parade and Picnic", subject to conditions set forth in Resolution No. 110-79 and conditions set forth in the "Application for Road Closure".
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt Resolution 153-2007.

Background: The "Garden Valley Annual 4th of July Parade and Picnic" is a traditional event, this marking the 38th year, sponsored by the Garden Valley Community Association. Requested road closures are for the safety of the race participants, children, volunteers, and spectators along the course.
Reason for Recommendation: The Department of Transportation is recommending Board approval of the closure to allow for the safety and success of this community event. Other involved agencies have made no objections to this closure.
Action to be taken following Board approval: The roads listed in the Resolution will be closed on Wednesday, July 4, 2007 between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. for the "Garden Valley Annual 4th of July Parade and Picnic" activities.
