Background:
The Human Resources Department, Risk Management Division has contracted with Sutter Medical Foundation to provide pre-employment (post-offer) physical examinations, hazardous material personnel evaluations, respirator fit testing, fitness-for-duty examinations, and drug and alcohol screenings for County employees and prospective employees on an as needed basis. The Procurement and Contracts Division has processed Amendment III to the subject agreement.

In accordance with Board of Supervisors Policy C-17, Section 7.4.2, the Purchasing Agent concurs with the department's request to amend this agreement. The amendment calls for clarification of various medical tests performed and related billing rates, a six (6) month term extension, and increases the amount of the contract by $90,000.00 for a total not to exceed of $487,000.00. The scope of work under the current contract with Sutter Medical Foundation is limited to medical testing only. The Risk Management Division currently has another contract in place with Occu-Med that provides for them to manage the employee medical testing process with Sutter, to review the medical results, and to make recommendations to the County as a result of its findings.
