Title: Transportation Department recommending the following pertaining to the Cameron Park Drive/Oxford Road Intersection Signalization Project 72365: (1) Award the construction contract to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder to be determined after the bid opening scheduled for June 18, 2007; (2) Authorize the Chairman to sign said contract with the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, subject to review and approval of the final contract documents by County Counsel and Risk Management. FUNDING: 2004 General Plan Traffic Impact Mitigation Fee Program with $28,418 being provided by the Rubberized Asphalt Concrete Grant Program of the California Integrated Waste Management Board.

Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:
The cost associated for the construction phase of this project is estimated at $1,100,000, which includes an estimated bid of $950,000, supplemental items at $60,000 and contingency of $90,000. In addition, the Department estimates a Construction Management, Testing and Surveying budget at $180,000.

Funding for this project is from the 2004 General Plan Traffic Impact Mitigation Fee Program and the Rubberized Asphalt Concrete Grant program of the California Integrated Waste Management Board.

There is no net cost to the County General Fund associated with this agenda item.

On May 22, 2007, your Board approved the Plans and Specifications and authorized the advertisement for construction bids for the Cameron Park Drive/Oxford Road Intersection Signalization Project.
