Transportation Department recommending adoption of Resolution sanctioning the closure of the Rubicon Trail Roads from Wentworth Springs and Loon Lake Dam to Gerle Creek, and thence east to the Placer County Line for the 55th Annual Jeepers Jamboree and the 29th Annual Jeep Jamboree from 6:00 am Wednesday, July 25th to midnight, Monday, July 30, 2007 and from 6:00 am Thursday, August 2nd to midnight Monday, August 6, 2007, subject to conditions set forth in Resolution No. 110-79 and conditions set forth in the "Application for Road Closure".
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt Resolution 167-2007.

Background: The Jeepers Jamboree and Jeep Jamboree "Four Wheel Drive Event" are traditional events sponsored by Jeepers Jamboree and Jeep Jamboree Inc. This year marks the 55th Jeepers Jamboree and the 29th Jeep Jamboree "Four Wheel Drive Event". Requested road closures are for the safety of the participants, children, volunteers, and spectators along the course.
Reason for Recommendation: The Department of Transportation is recommending Board approval of the closure to allow for the safety and success of this community event. Other involved agencies have made no objections to this closure.
Action to be taken following Board approval: The roads listed in the Resolution will be closed from 6:00 am Wednesday, July 25th to midnight Monday, July 30, 2007, and from 6:00 am Thursday, August 2nd to midnight Monday, August 6, 2007 for the 55th Annual Jeepers Jamboree and the 29th Annual Jeep Jamboree, "Four Wheel Drive Event."
