Transportation Department recommending Resolution sanctioning the closure of Pleasant Valley Road, between Leisure Lane and Mt. Aukum Road (E-16), and closure at the intersections of Alameda Road, Leisure Lane and Sly Park Road, on Wednesday, July 4, 2007, between 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., for the "Pleasant Valley Days 4th of July Celebration" Parade, subject to conditions set forth in Resolution No. 110-79 and conditions set forth in the "Application for Road Closure".
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt Resolution 149-2007.

Background:The "Pleasant Valley Days" Parade to celebrate 4th of July is an annual event and is sponsored by the Pleasant Valley Grange, Boy Scouts, and Pleasant Valley Volunteer Firefighter's Association. Requested road closures are for the safety of the parade participants, children, volunteers, and spectators along the course.
Reason for Recommendation: The Department of Transportation is recommending Board approval of the closure to allow for the safety and success of this community event. Other involved agencies have made no objections to this closure.
Action to be taken following Board approval: The roads listed in the Resolution will be closed on Wednesday, July 4, 2007 between 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. for "Pleasant Valley Days 4th of July Celebration" activities.
