Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: No change. Funds are budgeted for FY 2006-07 and included in the FY 2007-08 County Proposed Budget Request.

Background: The CareAccess Service Provider Agreement was first executed by the County Purchasing Agent on January 18, 2005. Although the $3,000 maximum dollar amount falls within the authority of the Purchasing Agent, since this is a non-standard, perpetual agreement initiated and required by CareAccess Silicon Valley, Procurement and Contracts has recommended Board execution of Amendment #1 to Agreement 441-S0610.

Reason for Recommendation: Human Services receives an annual grant from the California Department of Aging (CDA) for provision of the Multipurpose Senior Services Program (MSSP). These services assist Medi-Cal eligible, frail, vulnerable seniors, to remain in their homes and independent to the extent possible. CDA requires the use of proprietary CareAccess software to enable the Department to report and receive reimbursement for services provided, necessitating the continuance of the CareAccess Service Provider Agreement.
