Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: $0 The newly hired investigator is replacing an individual who retired at Step 5. Sufficient funding is already included in the District Attorney's FY 2006-07 budget.
Reason for Recommendation: The department recently interviewed candidates for the position of District Attorney Investigator and hired an employee with entensive experience in law enforcement. The deputy has been with the Sheriff's Department for the last 17 years and is at top step. Hiring him at Step 4 will provide that this "promotion" does not result in a reduction in pay.
